We had a fantastic turnout for our charity dog show on Saturday. The sun was shining & dog owners came out in their droves to get judged by the former Champion Boxer Nicky Piper MBE. Classes included Dog with the Waggiest Tail, Best Child Handler, Most Handsomest Dog to name a few. We were pleased to see so many of our local customers attend. Most went away with a rosette or two.
There were lots to do for the children including bouncy castles & face painting. Christian Davies (U19 Merthyr Academy Player) kindly coached the children’s football tournament & Cameron Tanner walked away with the Man of the Tournament Trophy.
There were stalls from Popty Cakes, Sweet Occasions, Ash Vets & Troopers Pet Supplies. We raised £650 on Saturday and with what Sarah raised by running the Paris Marathon, we raised £1255 for the George Thomas Hospice Care. The service provides specialist home based nursing and practical advice as well as bereavement counseling for up to 1,000 patients and families facing cancer and other life threatening illnesses each year.
We were overwhelmed by the kindness of local businesses with their donations for our raffle. It’s understandably a tough time but we still found the people of Merthyr to be very generous.
Our Team from Esher Surrey also attended the show & helped out with the running of the day. Royvon donates the staff time & covers the cost of putting on the show as a way to giving something back to the community. Since we started the show in 2007 and along with sponsorship from the 5 marathon Sarah’s run, Royvon has raised over £7700 for some great charities including Dogs Trust, RSPCA & German Shepherd Welfare Fund.
A big thank you to our teams for working so hard & to all the kind businesses that donated raffle prizes. Photos from the day can be downloaded on our Royvon Facebook page.
